As many new people I need to apologize for being new and not knowing much about Home cinema stuff.

I just bought a Philips Blu Ray player model BDP 7200/F7. I noticed it has speaker/subwoofer connections in the back. I would assume this would eliminate the need for me to buy a receiver/amp.
I am looking for an inexpensive alternative with good sound…its just for a bedroom

1.Can I connect any brand of 5.1 speakers to the dvd player and it will work?
2. Will the volume on the DVD Blu ray remote work with the speakers?
3. What speakers should I be seeking for in terms of the newest technology. I Have heard of HDMI connections, but Im not sure how thats possible for speakers, and there is only one hdmi connection on the back of the blu ray player that goes to the tv. I thought HDMI was just for picture mainly”

4. I wanted wireless, but I heard that the front 2 and center are not wireless its just the back two. I’m not sure if that would be compatible with the DVD Blu Ray player.
I have tried contacting philips support, and after 1 hour on the phone they could not tell me any of this nor answer any of my questions. I tried looking in the manual and it does not help either. I even tried looking for the specs, how much this player can run ie. 2 ohms, 6 ohms, 8 ohms, how many watts etc, it doesn’t even tell me that in the manual.
My other question would be I wouldnt want to waste my money and get a 200 watt, 6 ohm system, and the dvd player not be able to handle it.

If someone can answer my questions that would be great, as I am new to all this.
